               GAME ON: EXPLORING THE WORLD OF SPORTS

                                                  


 Sports are physical or mental activities those are typically competitive and have specific regulations or strategies to follow. These activities can involve individual or team participation and are often for entertainment , exercise , competition or leisure times. Sports have been an important part of human culture for thousand of years . For example, the ancient Greeks held athletic competitions as a part of their religious festivals

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 19.3 percent of the U.S.  population was engaged in sports and exercise each day in 2019. Male participation was higher (20.7 percent) than the participation rate of women (18 percent). This included participation in sports, exercise and other activities. Besides,40% of 18- 21 years old and 41% of 22-25 years old currently play sports. This can't be ignored.

Coming to the point of the variations of sports. There are many kinds of sports those are continuously mesmerising us. Such as  :

                                                      

◾ INDOOR SPORTS  :  Sports which are played in an enclosed space are called indoor sports as instance : Table-tennis , Chess and so on.



◾ OUTDOOR SPORTS : On the contrary, outdoor sports are played in open environment such as : Football , Basketball , Badminton etc.
                                       

◾ COMPETITIVE SPORTS: Sports can be classifies as competitive sports ,which involve structured competitions and events. 



◾ NON-COMPETITIVE SPORTS : Non-competitive sports are those which do not involve a team ,or require a competition. Some examples include : aerobics, fishing, hiking, skateboarding, surfing, archery etc.

                                                           


 CONTACT SPORTSSports can be classified as contact sports such as Football or Rugby, which involves physical contact between players.

                                                                 

 NON-CONTACT SPORTS : Sports which don't involve physical contact between players are known as non-contact sports such as gymnastic , swimming and so on.


 Sports & Bangladesh:

Bangladesh takes great pride in several sports, including cricket, football, and kabaddi.

Cricket is undoubtedly the most popular sport in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh national cricket team has made significant progress over the years, and their success on the international stage has made them a source of national pride. Some of the notable achievements of the team include reaching the quarter-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015 and reaching the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.

Football is also a popular sport in Bangladesh, and the national football team has a strong following. The Bangladesh national football team has participated in several international competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup and the South Asian Football Federation Championship.

Apart from these sports, Bangladesh also takes pride in its achievements in other sports such as field hockey, swimming, and athletics. In recent years, the country has made significant investments in sports infrastructure and development, with the aim of producing more world-class athletes and teams

Advantages we can get by Sports:

There are numerous benefits of involving oneself in sports, including:

  • Improved physical health: Regular participation in sports can improve overall physical health, including cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and flexibility. It can also help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure

Sports have numerous positive benefits for individuals and society as a whole. They can promote physical health, mental wellbeing, and social connections. Additionally, sports can bring people together from different backgrounds, cultures, and nations, promoting understanding, tolerance, and respect.
